The organization of these programmes is designed to present each student with a maximum exposure to the French language. The area of Brittany has been specially chosen because it is France at its most French. Each visiting group is given more opportunity than is usually available on school trips to experience the French language at first hand, e.g. through our contacts with local schools, where students either join in a formal lesson or play selective sports. The week normally culminates with a buffet to which their French "amis" from the school have been invited, providing further opportunities for informal dialogue. Local youngsters may also, with prior consent from the accompanying teachers, be invited to participate in games or to eat together at an evening meal. L'Ancienne Ecole also offers the services of a fully qualified teacher with wide experience teaching French throughout the 9 to 16 age group. We arrange practice in oral/aural work for all age ranges following National Curriculum guidelines if required and provide relevant worksheets to make the most of our organised educational excursions.

The CEL of Saint-Malo offers to combine linguistic stays "a la carte" with the discovery of one of the most popular tourist regions in France.
