Bourgogne (Burgundy)
Alliance Française Bourgogne
You speak no French at all? We offer courses for complete beginners. You want to improve, brush up, or widen your knowledge of French and its culture? Enrollments are accepted at any time of the year and classes begin on Mondays. You're a teacher and are interested in organizing a trip abroad for your students? We can help you plan by offering tailor-made language courses, sight-seeing outings, introductions to French life and culture, and finding appropriate accomodations, all according to your needs. We offer General French Courses at all levels of the CECR (Cadre Europeen Commun de Reference), and we are an accredited examination center for the TEF and the Alliance Française Certificates. Burgundy is world-renowned for having one of the richest and most varied French cuisine: escargot, Burgundy beef stew, cassis (black currents), coq au vin, a wide array of regional cheeses, poached-eggs in red wine sauce... and of course mustard! We organize visits to the workshops of local craftsmen, such as pastry bakers, printers, a lute maker, visits to the regional daily newspaper, an escargot-raising farm, a local radio station, a barrel-maker (cooper) for wine, a barge trip on one of the many regional canals, a tour of the Chateau du Clos de Vougeot, and trips to Paris. Each month, we offer a themed guided tour of a different local museums.

La Cardere - Institut Culturel de Langue Française
We speak French all day long! We apply the 60 hours total immersion "identité française" method involving 45 hours of conversation (excursions and visits with guide, meals, sports and walks) and 15 hours of classroom theory a week, with a different program each week (theory and excursions). To make the stay and lessons as personal as possible, we restrict the number of non-French-speaking participants to between 3 and maximum 6. The Centre is located in the middle of Bresse at an altitude of 200 m between the Burgundy region and the Jura Mountains. Students will have a chance to explore these famous regions during their stay. We go out on four excursions with a guide each week by bus, eventually by bicycle or on foot (all included in the price).
