Volume 1: (1 hour) 1: Introduction to Sign Language$15

The Solows explain how children adapt to using sign language. Larry sign-sings "Follow Me," The signs for "yesterday," "tomorrow," "morning" and "wonderful" are introduced, along with fingerspelling of the letter "E". 5: Review of First 4 Lessons$15
Reviewing the first four lessons, the Solows re-cap over 50 signs that were taught and the alphabet through the letter "E". They also relate some of their experiences with foreign travel and sign-sing "Say It With Sign". 6: Weather - Part I
You learn the necessity for facial expression to accompany sign language, as a part of total communication. Larry Solow sign-sings "Oh What A Beautiful Morning" and covers signs about the weather. A dialogue between Sharon and Larry without voice demonstrates that "talking about the weather" in sign language can actually get someone to do something about it.
Volume 3: (2 hours) 7: Weather - Part II
How to describe weather changes in sign is explained, from the "sun," to "lightning," "floods" and "rainbows". The Solows also bring the viewer into a conversation about weather. Sharon sign-sings "Somewhere Over the Rainbow;" new fingerspelling of the letters "G" and "I" are introduced. 8: Family - Part I

The problem of keeping secrets in sign language is explained. A review of the previous four lessons covers many conversational signs and the fingerspelled alphabet from the letters "A" to "O".

The signs for "day," "week," "month" and "tomorrow" are demonstrated and discussed. And, getting into a sports mood, the Solows teach the signs for "football;" fingerspelling includes the letters "H," "O," "M" and "E". Sharon dramatically sign-sings "Tomorrow," from the popular hit musical 'Annie'. 12: Time - Part II
Signs relating to the seasons are demonstrated and discussed. How pets obey sigh language: the Solows demonstrate how signs can come in handy for communicating across a crowded room or through a window. Sharon sign-sings "My Favorite Things". Volume 5: (2 hours) 15: Review of Lessons 10-13
A recap of the previous four programs provides viewers with a review of many signs, numbers and the fingerspelled alphabet from "A" through "U". Larry and Sharon discuss the fun of sign language and Sharon sign-sings "Say It With Sign". 16: Sports
Sports expert Steve Rankell joins Larry and Sharon for an explanation of sign language used in sports signals. Various games like "football," "baseball," "tennis" and "golf" are described in sign language. Fingerspelling lesson: "W," "O," "L," "V" and "E". Sharon sign-sings "You've Got a Friend". 17: Colors
Colors in a rainbow and colors in clothing are described in sign language. The Solows also provide a fascinating insight into devices used in deaf households as warnings and alerts, such as lights for doorbells, telephones and baby cry signals. Larry serenades Sharon by sign-singing "True Love". 18: Family - Part II
Larry and Sharon introduce Sharon's family, including her deaf parents, hearing sister and hearing nephews. Everyone speaks sign language in a conversation about hearing children growing up in a deaf household. Sharon sign-sings "You Gotta Have Heart" from 'Damn Yankees'. Fingerspelling lesson: "Y," "A," "E" and "R".
Volume 6: (2 hours) 19: Family - Part III
More insight on how deaf people function in families and in a hearing world is discussed. Viewers learn about hearing-ear dogs - and alarm clocks that flash rather than ring. Sharon sign-sings "People" and the Letter "Z" covers the end of the fingerspelled alphabet. 20: Review of lessons 16 - 19
In this review program, Larry and Sharon review many of the signs previously taught, including the entire fingerspelled alphabet. Information is also provided on where people can go to continue sign language instruction. 21: Golf
Larry and Sharon Solow launch into the second twenty episodes of sign language instruction. This program deals with the game of golf. Sharon and Larry discuss Larry's golf game with his father (which he lost). We learn signs for "win," "lose," "practice," "play" and "improve". Fingerspelling lesson: "C," "K," "L" and "O". Sharon sign-sings the song "I Hear Your Hand," written especially to be sign-sung. 22: Fruits & Colors
In keeping with their sense of fun, hosts Larry and Sharon tease us with signs for fruits of many colors. We learn "red apples," "yellow bananas," "orange oranges," and "green & purple grapes". Fingerspelling lesson: "O," "K," "A" and "B". Larry completes this fruit cocktail by sign-singing a very unusual version of "Yes, We Have No Bananas".
Volume 7: (2 hours) 23: Emergency Signs
Turning to the serious side of signing, Larry and Sharon provide us with the basic signs that might be needed in an emergency situation. The conversation provides a method of helping a deaf person who might be in trouble. We learn the signs for "fire," "police," "hospital," "doctor" and "ambulance". Fingerspelling lesson: "B," "U," "S," "O" and "K". In the true spirit of the show, Sharon sign-sings " 'Help,' by the Beatles. 24: Furniture
In the tradition of family living, Sharon opens the show by instructing husband Larry to re-arrange the furniture on the set. Later, they discuss what new furniture they should buy, including a "sofa," "chairs," "TV" and "table. Fingerspelling lesson: "T," "V," "R," "O" and "E". Larry and Sharon overlook their differences and get together to sign-sing "Tea For Two". 25: Review of lessons 21 - 24
The Solows discuss their experiences (both good and bad) as sign language interpreters. They review the last four programs by discussing the fact that Larry's "mother" "wasn't" "home" when Sharon "telephoned" today because she "works" at the "hospital". Fingerspelling lesson review: "C," "K," "L," "O," "B," "A," "S," "T," "V," "R" and "E". 26: Decoder
This program is devoted to the development of the television decoder as a means of giving deaf people access to some television programs. Larry and Sharon teach the signs for "decoder," "box," "caption" and "show". Fingerspelling lesson: "T," "V," "O" and "K". Sharon tells how much the decoder has meant to her deaf parents. Together, Larry and Sharon sign-sings the song 'Parents Are People'.
Volume 8: (2 hours) 27: TTY/Telephone
This episode opens with the TTY welcoming us to "Say It With Sign". Larry and Sharon demonstrate how the "TTY" works as a means of communicating with "deaf" people, using the telephone. Fingerspelling lesson: "T," "Y," "D" and "O". The Solows discuss the different places deaf people can call using a "TTY". Larry sign-sings 'Good Friends Are For Keeps'. 28: Vehicles
Larry tells Sharon about a friend of this that has a "sail boat," a "car," a "motorcycle," a "bicycle" and also rides the "train". We also learn the signs for "airplane," "ride in" and "water". Fingerspelling lesson: "B," "U," "S," "F" and "E". Sharon and Larry take off for a fun sign-song flight "Leavin' on a Jet Plane". 29: Beauty Parlor / Occupations
The Solows have both been on diets and Sharon has been to the beauty parlor for a new hairstyle, which prompts her to sign-sing 'I Enjoy Being a Child'. Also covered are the signs for many occupations. Fingerspelling lesson: "J," "O," "B," "S" and "E". There is also a discussion about the types of jobs that have been traditionally held by deaf persons because of their stereotyping. 30: Review of lessons 26 - 29
In reviewing the past four programs' signs, Larry and Sharon discuss deaf peddlers and sign language paraphernalia, including alphabet cards. Review includes many signs from the past four episodes. Fingerspelling lesson: "T," "V," "O," "K," "Y," "D," "B," "U," "S," "F," "E" and "J".
Volume 9: (2- 1/2 hours) 31: Family Vacation
After having spent two weeks on vacation in Arizona, the Solows have returned with Sharon's sister (Sheila Hall) and her two sons (Rich and Kirk) - as well as Sharon's mother and father (Don and Hertha Neuman). They all guest in this episode to talk about the family vacation. We learn the signs for various relations within the family unit. Finger-spelling lesson: "D," "O," "G," "E" and "I". Sharon sign-sings 'Living Together, Growing Together'. 32: Vacationing
Preoccupied with their vacation, Larry and Sharon dig out the traditional fish stories. They discuss how signs differ across the country and also from country to country. The signs taught in this episode involve camping out and travel. Fingerspelling lesson: "W," "O," "N," "E" and "H". Larry was so thrilled with his vacation that he sign-sings his desire to go 'Around the World in 80 Days'. 33: Megan's 2nd Birthday
Today is Megan's birthday party (Larry and Sharon's daughter). Larry's parents (Robert and Marilyn Solow) join them to give Megan her birthday cake and to sign and sing 'Happy Birthday'. Megan's proud parents help her to show off her ability to sign. We learn signs related to the birthday party. Fingerspelling lesson: "M," "E," "N," "S" and "A". 34: Food
Both being on diets, Larry and Sharon have a great preoccupation with food. This episode is devoted entirely to the sign for foods that are definitely not on their diets. 35: Review of lessons 31 - 34
The Solows stress the need to practice sign language in order to become fluent. They suggest several ways to practice when alone and with other people. Many signs from the past four programs are reviewed, including fingerspelling of "D," "O," "G," "E," "I,"
"M," "N," "S," "A," "E" and "O," along with words that use these letters.
Volume 10: (2-1/2 hours) 36: House Cleaning
The Solows are ready to begin a major cleaning project and it looks like Larry is going to get the short end of the stick They discuss the problems that deaf people have around the house without even knowing it - we also learn the signs for many items that are found in the house. Fingerspelling lesson: "X," "M," "A," "E" and "O," along with words that use these letters. 37: Holidays and Seasons
In addition to signing Santa Claus at Christmas, deaf people have made many adjustments to the various holiday seasons. Sharon and Larry teach signs for "summer," "fall," "winter" and "spring," plus all the holidays to go along with them. Fingerspelling lesson: "H," "O," "G," "E" and "M". Larry sign-sings 'If Ever I Would Leave You,' which uses all the sign of the seasons. 38: General Health
Larry has lost his voice and Sharon suggests that he use sign language instead. The Solows use this episode to teach signs that express general health. Deaf people have emotions that can be expressed through sign language. Larry and Sharon teach the signs for the basic emotions and how they can be expressed in varying degrees. Fingerspelling lesson: "Q," "U," "E," "T" and "I". Sharon expresses her emotions by sign-singing 'Sometimes I'm Happy'. 40: Review of lessons 36 - 39
Being the final episode in the series, in addition to their goodbyes, the Solows review many of the sign taught during the series. They fingerspell "E," "X," "A," "M," "O," "H," "G," "P," "Z," "Q," "U," "I" and "T," and incorporate many of them into words.
