CLIC Centro Lingua Italiana Calvino since 1987 has been offering Italian courses for international students in Florence, throughout the year. Residential summer courses are also available in Calabria, in the south of Italy. A language course with CLIC means language and culture combined. Students have the option of attending class either 2, 4 or 6 hours per day, Mondays through Fridays, in small groups and at 8 different language levels. For a good part of your active day, Italian will become your main language, and this - thanks to our method - happens in an absolutely "painless" manner. The Intensive course consists of extra practice in the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing with emphasis on practical communication activities. Groups are composed of no more than 6 students for each level, with 5 levels of instruction, with current material is used during the lessons, such as newspaper articles, literary texts, songs, videos, slides, films, etc. We use the direct method with instruction entirely in Italian; this makes it possible to practise oral comprehension and to develop the students' linguistic sensibility. The remaining lessons will be devoted to aspects of communication - with the aim of giving you confidence in using the Italian language as soon as possible.
