Apulia (Puglia)
Apulia Centre for Italian Language and Culture
At the Apulia Centre learning Italian takes place in a cultural and historical framework that helps you learn about Rome and Italy through art, history and traditions. The teaching method is functional-communicative: based on communication and interaction integrated with the study of grammar. The teaching units emerge from the integration of the linguistic skills taken in the following order: reading-listening, comprehension, speaking and writing. Vocabulary is a part of the reading-listening and comprehension module, while grammatical analysis is the moment for the student to examine the syntactical structure of the language. To help our students learn quickly and to enrich their knowledge of Italy, Domus Aurea develops students' skills integrating language with general culture.

Lessons In Italian
Lessons in Italian is a course borne from my three years of instructing foreign students in Italian grammar and culture at Porta D'Oriente School. Over the years I have come to understand both the joys and the difficulties of this particular type of work. I have come to realize that foreign students need more than just language instruction - they also need an instructor who can be sympathetic and understanding of their intimidation with a new language and environment, and who can be gentle with both the process of learning and the process of adapting. However, I have also found it is necessary to balance this tender approach with correct behavior; and to be stubborn when it comes to assuring that that a student acquires the knowledge essential to communicate effectively. The method of Lessons in Italian is flexible, innovative and stimulating. Flexible because it has to meet the needs of every single foreign student. Innovative because it is necessary to use original examples, explanations and solutions which differentiate from the classic methods of learning of Italian grammar. Stimulating because the acquisition of grammatical rules and of the uses, habits and traditions of the Italian culture do not have to be by any means boring and tedious but fun and interesting.

Otranto nel Mondo
Otranto nel Mondo (literally, Otranto in the World) aims to promote the Italian language and Italian culture throughout the world. With this in mind we have drawn up an agreement with the prestigious Perugia University for Foreign Students (Italy) and with Otranto Town Council (Italy). Otranto is a seaside tourist town in Apulia (Italy) and the neighbouring town Lecce is known as The Florence of the south'. The language school for foreign students in Italy is able to provide Italian language courses at six levels; each course participant's level of knowledge of the Italian language is assessed by means of initial tests. By arrangement with the Perugia Universtity for Foreign Students, the Italian language school is an examination centre for the Certificates in Italian Language (CELI) and Business Italian (CIC).
