Athena International School of Italian Language
Athena ISIL is located in Lanciano in the Province of Chieti, a very old town that preserves its distinctive, narrow streets from the Middle Ages and with picturesque traditional markets that go back to Roman times. Language Courses are taught by qualified teachers all year round and are held at Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. The courses start on the first Monday of each month, and run daily Monday to Friday from 9 to 12, 15 hours a week. We have a maximum of 8 students per class, 12 for courses arranged for a private group, and one-to-one tuition can be added to the general cours; the minimum age for admission to language courses is 18. Additional optional courses are available 2 afternoons per week in the following subjects: 1) Regional cookery - 2) Italian Literature and Art - 3) Archaeological History of Abruzzo. We have excursions to many places in the surrounding area.

Eurolingua Institute - Italian in Pescara

Harvard Summer Program in Abruzzo (Chieti and Vasto)
This program provides a unique opportunity to study intensive Italian with Harvard faculty while staying in the charming city of Vasto, southeast of Chieti, in Italy's Abruzzo region - the land of hermits, mystics, and poets. Students enjoy the wonders of the natural setting, from the majestic beauty of the Apennine mountains to the sparkling waters of the Adriatic coast. The program includes excursions to nearby points of interest, such as the Maiella National Park, the famous confetti factory in Sulmona, and the Cascella Art Museum in Pescara. The course includes a daily average of 5 hours of class time at least five days a week supplemented by special seminars with renowned scholars and experts in the language arts and in the history of modern Italy. Applicants may be asked to take a placement test before being accepted into the program.

Nocciano Institute for Arts & Culture
Set in a renovated 12th-century castle in the Abruzzo region of Italy, these two-week programs for High School Juniors and Seniors focus on Italian culture and language and one of the following: painting and drawing, or photography, or voice and choral music. University credit is available.
