Fuzhou Phonology and Grammar Li Zhuqing
This book treats the Fuzhou dialect as an organically whole system and presents and analyzes the features that distinguish Fuzhou from Mandarin Chinese. The first part of the book deals with the sound system of the Fuzhou dialect and presents a complete set of sandhi rules in various parts of a syllable, tone, and final vowels—all of which are illustrated with abundant examples. The second part selects and studies unique grammatical features of the dialect. It emphasizes that the close interaction between the phonology and syntax is a defining feature of the Fuzhou dialect. 2002, 284 pages, hardbound.
