There are two levels available: Level 1 DVD-ROM Complete Package, and Level 2 Complete DVD-ROM Package.

Students can learn an ancient language via modern technology through Bolchazy-Carducci Publishers' DVD/CD-ROM version 2.0 of Artes Latinae. Designed by Dr. Jeffrey Lyon, based on Dr. Waldo Sweet's original, the DVD/CD-ROM version incorporates text, graphics and sound into a computer accessible format. At the click of an icon, students can choose one of three pronunciations: Dr. Robert Sonkowsky and Dr. Barbara Sonkowsky using the Restored Classical; Nancy Llewellyn and Dr. Clarence Miller using the Continental/Ecclesiastical; or Dr. Waldo Sweet's original American Scholastic version:

• Restored Classical - The most current evidence points to the Restored Classical pronunciation as the most accurate sound of classical Latin. This pronunciation is distinguished by the nasalization of a word's final vowel when it is followed by 'm.'
• Continental/Ecclesiastical - This pronunciation is commonly encountered in liturgy, music lyrics, and Christian, Medieval and Neo-Latin texts.
• American Scholastic - a classical pronunciation. Waldo E. Sweet's original cassette recordings have been digitized for the CD-ROM format. this is the default pronunciation for Artes Latinae.

Each DVD/CD-ROM package includes a manual, a reference notebook, a unit test booklet, a guide to the unit tests, a graded reader and the manual for the graded reader. All components of the CD-ROM package can also be purchased individually. The DVD/CD-ROM disk replaces the student textbooks and the cassettes of the traditional format.

Graded Readers

The readers feature proverbs, poems, and other readings from the ancient authors. They allow students to practice the Latin they are learning and to experience more examples of the structures they have mastered. The accompanying teacher's guides include translations, additional readings, and grammatical and cultural notes.
