Tolkien in Foreign Language Editions Note: these books are special orders, so they will take longer to ship than other products.
When J.R.R. Tolkien penned The Hobbit, which was published in 1937, he couldn't have known that he was beginning one of the most famous and beloved story cycles the world has ever known. Its initial popularity prompted his publisher to ask for a sequel and Tolkien started writing The Lord of the Rings, which turned out to be a huge opus requiring twelve years for completion - and history was in the making. By the time of Tolkien's death in 1973 The Lord of the Rings had a huge word-of-mouth cult following, with many popular editions, and was part of the cultural background for youth and adults of all ages. Peter Jackson's movie Ring cycle of the Tolkien series has made history again (and is in its own way an achievement in cinema much like Tolkien's in literature, but that is another story) - and has brought Tolkien's writings into a prominence that is perhaps at its peak. Happily, this means that the many foreign editions of Tolkien will probably remain in print for some time, and more may be brought to the fore.

The Little Prince in Italian Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Note: these books are special orders, so they will take longer to ship than other products.
Equally loved by children and adults alike, The Little Prince is one of the most translated books on the planet - which is fortunate, as we are able to offer here editions in many languages for your (or your child's) enjoyment! With wonderful and whimsical illustrations by the author, this delightful tale straddles a world between adulthood and childhood, philosophy and fantasy, satire and fable, and reminds one not of great children's authors of the past, but of more unclassifiable writers like Carroll, Milne, and Tolkien, who seem to be writing as much for older as younger readers, and whose writings can be enjoyed on many levels. Written in 1943 by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, who disappeared shortly after in WWII during a flying mission for the Allies in Northern Africa, it became an instant cult classic and has remained so ever since. Enjoy The Little Prince in the language of your choice, and check regularly, as we will be adding new versions as they become available.
