Hawaiian is a co-officiial language of the American state of Hawaii, along with English. Hawaiian is a Polynesian member of the Austronesian language family, closely related to other Polynesian languages, and distantly related to Fijian and more distantly to Malay, Indonesian, Malagasy, and the indigenous languages of the Philippines.
