Olympics: Canada Shuts Out U.S. in Men's Hockey Semi; Mikaela Shiffrin Skis into History Books

There will be no beer for Obama.

A day after the U.S. women’s devastating loss to Canada in the Olympic gold-medal hockey game, the American men lost its semifinal bout against its Northern neighbor.

In a rematch of the Vancouver overtime gold-medal contest, Canada prevailed Friday 1-0 with Jamie Benn’s goal in the second period, while goalie Carey Price made 31 saves. They will play Sweden, which beat Finland 2-1, in the final for the chance to win its first hockey gold outside of North America since 1952. 

The U.S., which suffered its first loss in Sochi, will play Finland for the bronze on Saturday.
