On Nickelodeon’s new animated series Breadwinners, best friends SwaySway and Buhdeuce are ducks that deliver loaves of unusual bread out of their Rocket Van. Creators Steve Borst and Gary “Doodles” Di Raffaele (MAD) came up with the idea behind the carb-loving waterfowl as part of the kids network’s new Animation Shorts Program, created to incubate new creator-generated cartoons that could then be turned into series. Nickelodeon liked what it saw and fast-tracked 20 episodes of Breadwinners, which premieres Monday, Feb. 17 at 7:30/6:30c. (The show then moves to Saturdays at 11 a.m./10c starting Feb. 22.)
