Despite the language barrier, Pussy Riot more than kept up with Stephen Colbert during their appearance on his faux conservative show Colbert Report.
Masha Alyokhina and Nadya Tolokonnikova, two members of the Russian punk band who were recently released from prison for insulting Vladamir Putin, proved that humor isn’t necessarily lost in translation.
When Colbert, who was posing as a “friend” of Putin, told the pair they would be searched before leaving the building, Tolokonnikova quickly shot back, “We’ve had two years of practice hiding things from searches.”
