Volume 2

Cougar: Elusive Predator
The cougar is Nature's perfect hunter, silently stalking prey from moose to mice, unchallenged atop the food chain. In mountains, forests and even deserts across North America, this shy and elusive cat lives a solitary life. Threatened by mankind, the cougar can exist only if there is wilderness where it can roam undisturbed. Explore how this superbly adapted feline rears its young while surviving in a hostile and diminishing environment.

Bison: Beyond the Great River
For thousands of years, the North American plains thundered with the hooves of bison. By the late 1800's the bison count went from millions to near extinction. With outstanding cinematography together with rare archival footage this DVD tells us the success story of the wood bison: the largest mammal in North America. Watch the herd master meet all contenders head on in mating battles; learn their aggressive displays of dominance; meet their predators - large packs of wolves; and see playful calves run and buck hours after birth. Here, beyond the great Mackenzie River, the bison are safe. Their return to the boreal forests is a success story of wildlife management and restoration that benefit both bison and human populations.
