Fula (or Fulani, Fulfulde, Pulaar, Pularis, Peul) is a language of West Africa, spoken by the Fula people from Senegambia and Guinea to Cameroon and Sudan, and is also spoken as the first language by the Tukulor in the Senegal River Valley and as a second language by peoples in other areas. The countries in Africa where it is spoken include Mauritania, Senegal, Guinea, Gambia, Mali, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Benin, Burkina Faso, Guinea Bissau, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Niger, Chad, Togo, the Central African Republic, Ghana, Liberia, and as far as Sudan in the east.
