George Strait was the big winner at Sunday’s Academy of Country Music Awards, taking home the prize for fan-voted Entertainer of the Year.

After beating out Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert and the show’s co-hosts Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton, 61-year-old Strait said, “Wow… I always said I had the best fans in the world and I heard this was a fan-voted thing, so I rest my case … This is so amazing. This has been an amazing past 30 years.” Strait last won the award in 1990.
