We have gathered together here a number of free Spanish language lessons and language courses for those learning Spanish, along with some other Spanish language resources, such as Spanish online courses and exercises, podcasts, video lessons, alphabets, dictionaries, lexicons, verb conjugations, language communities, newspapers, articles, and books. Most of these sites will be in English, although a number are multilingual in nature.

Mixitxu Etxeberria : Learn How to Speak Spanish
Mixitxu Etxeberria graduated in 2005 from Reed College with a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics Emphasis on Spanish Dialectology and Anthropology. She lived for one year in Spain half of which was spent studying in a Spanish immersion program at La Universidad de La Rioja in Logrono, Spain. Not only has she studied Spanish intensely she has also taught it to 6 and 7 year olds at a kids summer camp in Pamplona, Spain and has taught Spanish to day laborer immigrants in Portland, Oregon. She is now a fluent Spanish speaker and teacher.

Rojas Spanish Language Podcast
NO English is spoken here. These podcasts are for the Intermediate and Advanced Spanish Speaker who would like to sharpen their Spanish skills. Spanish Course for Beginners
The Embassy of Spain is pleased in introducing a Course of Spanish for beginners which has been programmed and supervised by the Department of Spanish at the University of Calgary. The software is authored by Prof. William Gilby and supervised by Dr. Luis Torres with help from Prof. Enrique Fernandez. This software is freely downloadable, and runs in the old MS-DOS format.

This site presents a series of language exercises for the purpose of facilitating the learning and teaching of Spanish in the Internet environment. I have prepared these Spanish lessons to teach basic knowledge, grammar, and vocabulary for Mexican Spanish. I am not a native speaker of Spanish, so any mistakes in these lessons are my own. Each lesson is loosely organized around a central theme. New words, sample sentences, pronunciation guides, grammar explanations, and self-tests are included in most of the lessons. In addition, each lesson contains audio of that lesson's new words being spoken (by me) to help with pronunciation.

For the most part the versions of the poems offered here have been adapted from rather old books, and they frequently do not correspond exactly to what is found in some modern textbooks. After each poem I have added information on the rhyme and number of syllables per line, with the hope that this will help you appreciate a little more some of the technical aspects of Spanish poetry.

Proyecto Ensayo Hispanico
